BY Ploughman's Lunch Sandwich Recipe
Take all the ingredients from a traditional ploughman's and transform it into a ploughman's lunch sandwich with ham as a substitute for the pork pie.
The difference with this ploughman's sandwich variation is you get thick cut slices of deli ham with the bonus of a strong Cheddar.
This is all pressed inbetween thick cuts of wholemeal bread with a heap of Branstons pickle on one side and Hellmann's on the other.
Throw in slices of cucumber, tomato and lettuce and it becomes a pretty tall sandwich for lunch.
PREP:
6 MIN.
SERVINGS: 1INGREDIENTS
2 slices thick cut wholemeal bread
1 tbsp. Branston pickle, original or small chunks
1 tbsp. Hellmann's Real Mayonnaise
3 thick cuts of strong, mature Cheddar cheese
3 slices deli cooked ham
4 slices of juicy tomato
5 slices cucumber
Iceberg lettuce leaves
INSTRUCTIONS
1
Place two slices of thick cut wholemeal bread side by side on the chopping board
2
On one slice add 1 tablespoon of Branston's small chunks pickle covering the bread
3
On the second slice add 1 tablespoon of Hellmann's Real Mayonnaise, spreading evenly
4
Now, on the slice of bread consisting of the pickle, lay your thick cut mature Cheddar cheese directly on the pickle covering it completely
5
To layer the salad on the cheese, first add 4 slices of tomato, 5 slices of cucumber and finish with a layer of Iceberg lettuce
6
To serve, cut in half crossways, not diagonally as the sandwich will be tall at this point and won't hold a triangle cut without toppling over
7
Best kept in the fridge for a short time before consuming
